For those unfamiliar with Gilbert Manor…
The Augusta, GA Housing Authority is selling housing project, Gilbert Manor, to the neighboring Medical College of Georgia. The school plans to build a School of Dentistry building on the 15-acre site .
Many residents of the housing project and the surrounding community have expressed concern in the difficulty of finding housing elsewhere, as well as school interruptions for the children that will be affected by the forced move. Other residents were concerned that they would also have a hard time reaching the hospital for care. Right now they are within walking distance of the hospital.

I think that the people should be excited about the move. Everything. Happens for a reason and you should be happy that your upgrading and not living in the projects. The housing people are giving away vouchers to them so why complain? I wish I could get a handout.
